Terms & Conditions of Sale

Welcome to Handmade by Christine.
By placing an order, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These ensure transparency, mutual understanding, and the highest care in creating your keepsake.

💜 1. Handmade Nature of Products

Each piece is handmade individually using your chosen inclusions. Because of this, no two items will ever be identical. Small variations are part of what makes your keepsake unique.

You acknowledge that:

  • Resin work may contain small air bubbles, natural texture, or variations in clarity.

  • Minor colour shifts can occur due to the natural properties of resin and the materials placed inside.

  • Items containing organic materials (such as flowers or hair) may age slightly over time or react to light exposure.

  • Occasional flash cures or micro-bubbles are normal and not considered defects.

I always strive to achieve a flawless finish, but slight imperfections are a natural result of the handmade process.

🌸 2. Materials and Customer Responsibility

You are responsible for:

  • Following the How to Send Your Materials guide.

  • Labelling inclusions clearly with your name and order number.

  • Understanding that inclusions are used at your own risk, and while every precaution is taken, I cannot guarantee how each material will react during casting.

Unused inclusions are always returned with your finished order.

🌼 3. Timescales

All keepsakes are created by hand and in the order they are received.
Standard turnaround time is up to 6 months from the date I receive your materials.
This may vary depending on design complexity, workload, or curing/drying times.

You’ll be kept informed of estimated completion and any changes.

🌿 4. Design Proofs and Artistic Discretion

You may be sent layout photos for approval before pouring.
If no response is received within 48 hours, I may proceed using my professional judgement.

As the artist, I retain discretion over layout and presentation to achieve the best aesthetic and structural result.

🌺 5. Refunds, Replacements & Repairs

Because all items are bespoke:

  • Orders are non-refundable once work has begun or materials received.

  • If an item arrives damaged in transit, contact me within 48 hours with photos.

  • I’ll assess whether repair, remake, or partial refund is appropriate.

Repairs to pieces made by Handmade by Christine are guaranteed and carried out free of charge where a workmanship fault is proven.

✉️ 7. Delivery and Loss in Transit

All finished keepsakes are shipped via tracked and signed services.
Tracking details are provided once dispatched.
Handmade by Christine cannot accept responsibility for items lost or damaged in transit.

🌻 8. Copyright & Design Ownership

All designs, photos, and written content remain the property of Handmade by Christine and may not be reproduced or copied without written permission.

🌼 9. Health & Safety

All resin used is certified non-toxic once cured.
Finished pieces are not toys and should be kept away from children and pets.

🌸 10. Acceptance of Terms

By placing an order you confirm that:

  • You have read and understood these Terms.

  • You accept natural variations as part of handmade work.

  • You understand production may take up to 6 months.

💜 11. Restoration & Correction Work Terms

Restoration services are offered as a good-faith attempt to improve keepsakes made by other makers. Every item is assessed individually with honesty and care.

11.1 Assessment & Feasibility

  • Each piece is inspected on arrival to determine what can safely be done.

  • You’ll receive a clear explanation and quotation before work begins.

  • Work proceeds only if I believe improvement is possible without further harm.

Once resin has been cast, it cannot be reversed. Restoration typically involves cutting out inclusions, sanding, and re-casting in fresh resin.

11.2 Process & Limitations

  • Restoration may involve cutting, grinding, or sanding, followed by new casting.

  • Risks include minor loss of inclusions, visible seams, colour change, or small surface marks.

  • Such characteristics are normal and not faults.

11.3 No Guarantees

  • Results cannot be guaranteed; outcomes depend on the original maker’s methods and material condition.

  • The finished piece will be an improvement, not a flawless recreation.

  • Handmade by Christine cannot guarantee identical colour or clarity to the original item.

11.4 Communication & Timing

  • Progress photos may be provided before final casting.

  • Once approved, work begins; restoration may take up to 26 weeks depending on complexity.

11.5 Liability

  • I’m not liable for prior defects, hidden weaknesses, or reactions caused by other makers’ resin.

  • If repair isn’t possible, I’ll contact you to discuss alternatives or return materials safely.

11.6 Guarantee on Restored Work

  • Any section re-cast by Handmade by Christine is covered by my normal workmanship guarantee (six months).

  • No guarantee applies to original materials or external workmanship.

11.7 Payment Terms

  • Full payment or agreed deposit is required before restoration begins.

  • Quotes remain valid for 14 days.

  • Once work has started, payments are non-refundable.

11.8 Acceptance of Restoration Terms

By submitting a restoration form or sending an item, you confirm that:

  • You understand the process and risks described above.

  • You accept that perfection cannot be guaranteed.

  • You agree to these Restoration & Correction Work Terms as part of your overall Terms of Sale.
